Our Story
Discover Our Journey So Far
My wife and I were born and raised in El Salvador Central America. We moved to USA in 1998, we live in Fort Mill SC and we have three kids, 2 boys, 1 girl and the most recent addition to our family, our dog Milo (he is a Shih-Poo). My family from my father side were coffee growers for generations and that is why it is our desire to introduce you to one of the best coffees you will ever try.
Our Story cont…
Many people know coffee from Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Hawaii and Costa Rica just to mention a few, but never heard that El Salvador produce high quality coffee, coffee in El Salvador was like oil to the middle east, at one point in the 1950’s and 60’s El Salvador used to set the trends in the coffee industry worldwide but due to political unrest, war and high crime rates the coffee industry almost died in the 1980’s. Since 2005 the coffee industry is waking up and taking solid steps to take back the place we had 50 years ago as one of the most exquisite coffees in the world.

How we decided to start our own brand? Well… in one of our visits to our country, I decided to bring coffee to my friends and coworkers, everybody was amazed with the quality of our coffee, they loved the flavors and how smooth it was. One of my friends even suggested I should bring more coffee and sell it under my own label (that is how this idea started 5 years ago).
On our last trip to El Salvador I met with family members and childhood friends that still owns coffee plantations, some of them turned their farms into tourist attractions and others they just stop harvesting coffee at all. We all agree it is causing a big problem (because the economy was based on coffee) to the small towns we used to go as little kids during harvesting season (October-March) and during school breaks to play and help around.

Café OLEC was born with the sole idea to make one of the best Coffee in the world available to you, our coffee grows at high altitude, and it is considered a single origin, specialty gourmet coffee. No matter if you are a Coffee connoisseur, coffee aficionado, or just normal coffee drinker like me, you will be able to enjoy our coffee and taste all the flavor hints that comes with it naturally.
Our pledge to you is to bring you a coffee that is not only grown 100% natural but also it is processed the same way our forefathers did over 100 years ago, our coffee it is processed and roasted in an artisanal way (we do not use high tech equipment to roast our coffee). At the same time, we are committed to give back to the communities, making sure we pay top prices to the workers and partner growers that help us during harvesting season plus a percentage of the profits will go back to help on social programs specifically local schools. Rest assured and knew that while you are enjoying your cup of coffee you are being part of a new movement with social conscience!
Thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy our coffee as much as we do.
Sincerely, The Carcamo Family
